OUR STORY
Back in 2016 we decided to embark on a new adventure and we purchased an established Pet Shop called Hudson's Pet Supplies Est. 1938 which had been ran by the same family from opening until their retirement in 2016.
We had a vision, a mission; to educate pet owners in pet health and to introduce Raw Feeding into the area.
Our Raw Feeding Journey started when our, at the time, 6 year old Shih-tzu; Blossom was declining in health, quickly, she refused every "dog food" on the market and lived on boiled ham and cheese, she was quite obviously deficient in Nutrients and after following failing advice from our vets we decided to do our own research. There had to be another way? ...
... Then we found Raw Feeding and it terrified us. Raw meat? Salmonella? E.Coli? but at this point we were willing to try anything.
Not wanting to get it wrong, the research started, I (Emma) decided that running our first business was not difficult enough so I undertook my first diploma, using Blossom as a guinea pig; What followed was pure MAGIC! We started with Pre-made minces before moving over to DIY and started adding herbs and a few veggies along with probiotic powders and Skin & Coat supplements. She started DANCING for her food, dancing! After refusing food for 6 years she was now enjoying her meals, clearing every bowl, every single time.
I believe she knew what she needed and she was showing me that this was it, the weeks that followed astounded us, her coat started growing through quicker and thicker, her itching reduced, her appetite came back and her digestion stabilised. The need for wanting to know more took over and I completed a second level 3 Diploma in Nutrition, our book collection grew and is still growing because you can never learn enough, there's always new research, new ideas, new knowledge. A few of my favourite books are as follows:
The Forever Dog - Feeding Dogs - Raw and Natural Nutrition for dogs - Canine Nutrigenomics and I would recommend any owner to buy at least one of those books to gain a better understanding of their dogs Physiological needs.
Alongside Blossom we also have Olive & Willow (our pugs) and Nacho (our Rottweiler) and all 3 of them have started their raw journey from weaning and the health differences are so vast.

But back to Blossom, we gained 6 beautiful years of her life, just by moving her over to a more natural diet, she had 6 years of feeling so much healthier, 6 years of enjoying her food and that is worth all the sleepless nights researching. Unfortunately we lost Blossom in September of 2022 to Mitral Valve disease, she was diagnosed in July of 2022 after a strong Heart Murmur was discovered by our vet. We miss her greatly, but we thank her for showing us true Loyalty and if it wasn't for Blossom we may not be where we are today - helping thousands of owners to help their dogs lead a more natural and holistic lifestyle.
Now we find ourselves in 2024, still serving our local area with Natural Treats, Natural Foods and Health beneficial Supplements, not forgetting our Free specialised advice and further specialised advice from Emma, our Nutritionist.
After 7/8 years of owning our little shop we still have the same Mission Values, the same dreams.
