Myth #1
Dogs Become Bloodthirsty on a Raw Food Diet
FALSE
There is no evidence to suggest that feeding dogs a raw, fresh meat diet increases their predator drive or makes them more aggressive.
In fact, dogs on ultra-processed diets are more likely to exhibit discomfort, anxiety, and aggressive behavior. This is often attributed to poor-quality diets high in carbohydrates and sugars, but lacking in essential, bioavailable nutrients.
Elevated blood sugar levels have been directly linked to behavioural issues. In our experience, transitioning dogs from processed foods (such as kibble and canned options) to a fresh, natural diet often leads to a calmer, more balanced demeanour, significantly reducing the chances of aggression. After nearly nine years of feeding raw diets, I have yet to witness a negative behavioural change in any dog making the switch to this healthier, more natural way of eating.

Myth #2
Raw Dog Food is NOT Complete and Balanced?
False(ISH) Here's Why
Feeding raw can be incredibly beneficial, but it’s essential to get it right. For instance, if you feed your dog only raw chicken, their diet will likely lead to nutritional deficiencies. If you're not confident in creating a DIY raw diet, there are raw food companies that offer pre-minced options containing meat, bone, offal and some containing fruits & veg. However, even these pre-made mixes can fall short if you rely on a single protein source without proper supplementation.
Think of it this way: if we ate nothing but chicken breasts, we’d eventually suffer from nutrient deficiencies too. A varied diet is key to achieving balance over time. Expecting every single meal to be perfectly complete and balanced isn’t realistic. No fresh food diet, whether for humans or dogs, relies on one type of food alone. Variety is crutial and the same principle applies to your dog’s diet.
A well-rounded raw diet should include a mix of meat, eggs, fish, bone, offal, veggies, healthy fats, and fruits, with plant matter making up no more than 20% of their diet.
Feeding your dog a fresh, varied diet unlocks incredible health benefits!

Myth #3
Feeding a Raw Fresh Diet is Expensive
FALSE
Switching to a raw diet might initially seem costly, especially if you're transitioning from a low-quality kibble. However, there are ways to make it more affordable without compromising on quality.
Feeding only organic, human grade food would undoubtedly be the gold standard, but it can also be incredibly expensive. Whilst ideal, it’s not the only option for providing a nutritious and balanced diet for your dog.
By purchasing minces and chunks from us, you’re utilising cuts of meat that aren’t typically available in supermarket aisles—like cheek, lungs, heart, tripe, kidney, liver, and stripped carcasses. While these may not appeal to our taste buds, dogs absolutely love them! Not only are they packed with essential nutrients, but they also cost a fraction of what you’d pay for premium cuts like steak, bacon, or chicken breasts.
For instance, feeding a 20kg adult dog a raw diet from us, would cost less than £20 a week (excluding supplements or treats). That’s an affordable way to ensure your pet gets high-quality nutrition!
Beyond the cost savings, the long-term benefits are undeniable. A fresh, balanced diet often leads to fewer health issues, meaning fewer vet visits, ultimately saving you money and ensuring your dog lives a healthier, happier life.

I love seeing dogs flourish on a raw diet; it’s truly rewarding!
